London Shareholder Event 2026

Elisabeth Stheeman was appointed to the Board on 23 May 2019 and became Chair on 21 July 2022. She is currently an independent member of the board of US REIT W.P. Carey Inc, M&G plc and Deloitte LLP. She is also Vice President of the Council of the German British Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Previously, she was an External Member of the Audit and Risk Committee of The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, an External member of the Financial Policy Committee and Financial Market Infrastructure Board and a senior advisor to the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority. She was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Aareal Bank AG, Alstria AG and a member of Council of the London School of Economics.

Imran joined Liontrust in April 2022 as part of the acquisition of Majedie Asset Management, where he had managed funds for four years. Before joining Majedie in 2018, Imran was a Managing Director and Fund Manager at Blackrock, where he managed UK equity funds with combined UK equity assets of over £2 billion. Imran joined Mercury Asset Management in 1997 (subsequently acquired by Merrill Lynch, now Blackrock). He holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Mathematics & Economics from the University of Warwick and is a CFA Charterholder.

Emily Barnard is a Fund Manager on the Global Fundamental team. Emily joined Liontrust in April 2022 as part of the acquisition of Majedie Asset Management where she was an Equity Analyst for six years. Prior to joining Majedie in 2016, Emily completed a two year rotational graduate programme at the Wellcome Trust, focusing on equity analysis. Emily holds a Master of Physics degree in Theoretical Physics from Durham University and is a CFA Charterholder.

James Mowat is Head of Investment Companies at Liontrust and is responsible for the overall relationship with the Board of Edinburgh Investment Trust. James has 30 years of investment experience, having had portfolio management and client facing roles at Cazenove (1995-2002) and Baillie Gifford (2002-2016). He has deep knowledge of the investment trust sector and has managed the relationship with the Edinburgh board since appointment in 2019.

Jeff Prestridge has been a journalist for more than 40 years. Starting at specialist financial magazine Money Management, part of the FT, he progressed to become personal financial editor of The Sunday Telegraph before joining the Daily Mail as personal finance editor of The Mail on Sunday in 1994. Today, Jeff is Money Editor at Large for DMGT (Daily Mail & General Trust), owner of newspapers the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday. In his career, Jeff has won numerous awards for journalistic excellence. He is a fearless campaigner and an advocate of greater financial literacy. He has also written extensively on long term investing, in so doing financially empowering many of his readers to become savvier investors. Jeff hates financial jargon and believes it remains an impediment to making financial services more accessible to the public.
Jeff’s pastimes include running to excess and is a long-suffering season ticket holder at West Bromwich Albion FC. He also loves the arts.
